Through a single touch, users can gain access to information as well as entertainment simultaneously. According to First post, Indian women are now more engaged on smartphones to watch YouTube and Play games than men.

According to a report by the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA), in association with Kantar IMRB, a market research firm states that a consumer on average spends three hours per day on their smartphones. The report also showed an increase of smartphone user’s to 55 percent in 2016 from the previous year. “Social media and messaging apps were the clear leaders, accounting for almost 50 per cent of all time spent on smartphones,” the report said. However, the study further revealed that women spent twice the time on their smartphone when compared to their male counterparts. Looking at Facebook in particular, women spend about 80 percent more time than male.

The rise of online shopping category has heavily contributed to the use of smartphone, making it 15 percent higher reach than entertainment and in the second most popular category.
