Bangalore: How much is the World’s most powerful man worth? U.S. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are millionaires, but are worth only about $6 million (32.6 crores). The numbers are actually low in comparison to last year.

As per Forbes, the President’s riches these days are held in plain vanilla U.S. treasuries, worth about $3.4 million (18.5 crores). He has $2.4 million ( 13 crore) in notes and $1 million ( 5.4 crore) in T-bills, lower than the $5.2 million ( 28.3 crore) in treasuries estimated off the May 16, 2011 disclosures. The Obamas also have almost three quarters of a million in cash, and $625,000 ( 3.4 crore) in mutual funds and ETFs, including about $300,000 ( 1.6 crore) in college funds for their girls, as well as a $90,000 ( 49 lakh) in a State of Illinois pension fund.

One of the couple’s most valuable assets is their 6,200-square-foot home in Hyde Park in Chicago. The property was recently listed in public documents with a value at $1.65 million, which is the same as what they paid for it back in 2005. The financial disclosure also revealed a mortgage against the house between $500,000 and $1,000,000.

While Obama’s exact net worth is impossible to determine according to financial disclosure forms released by the White House earlier this week. The forms showed assets ranging between $2.6 million and $8.3 million reported LA Times.
