Bangalore: Weddings are always special and auspicious, and when they are held at palaces and castle it makes them all the more romantic. Palaces and castle conjure up images of the prince charming and the damsel in distress.

A wedding is a fairytale and what better way to make it perfect than tying a knot in palaces. Here are some much loved celebrities who decided to make their wedding day extra special and royal by making palaces and castles their wedding venues.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes

Venue: Odescalchi Castle in Bracciano in Italy

After jumping on the sofa at The Oprah Winfrey Show, Tom Cruise married his lady love in style. Known to do things in style, Tom proposed to Katie on the top of the Eiffel tower in Paris, Francein 2005.  A year later the couple exchanged vows and tied the knot at Odescalchi Castle in Bracciano, Italy in 2006. The guest wore clothes designed by Giorgio Armani.

The couple had their first child on April 18, 2006 few months before they tied the knot and they named their daughter Suri. Sadly six years later the world was shocked when Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise decided to end their fairytale wedding.

According to reports, Tom is missing his wife and daughter and there are rumors that Tom is ready to give up his belief in Scientology which many site as being the reason behind the couple’s divorce. Only time will tell if Katie is willing to forgive and come back to her former husband.
