The Ummayad Mosque, Syria
The Ummayad Mosque that stood as a pillar of the world heritage site was once called upon as the Great Mosque of Aleppo. It was assumed to be the dwellings of Zechchariah Remains, father of John the Baptist. The cupola or the dome like structure erected in 1090 was destroyed in the aftermath of the civil war in Syria (2013).
