Marital Rape made Illegal

According to Section 375 of the Indian Penal Code, “Sexual intercourse by a man with his own wife, the wife not being under 15 years of age, is not rape.” Considering the fact that marital rape is very common form of sexual violence in India, the government should make it a punishable by enforcing a law. Many countries like France, Japan, and Switzerland have made spousal rape a criminal offence while in some parts of the world the death sentence is given as the punishment.
