Thang-Ta:

A North-Eastern martial art developed in Manipur by meiti community. Many weapons like sword, spear and dagger are used while performing this art and movements are based on the rhythm of breathing. In Manipuri language ‘Thang’ means sword and ‘ta’ means spear, thus sword and spear form the heart and soul of this art.

Lathi:

Lathi, which means 4 to 6 foot long bamboo stick, mostly used by Indian Police to control the crowd. Lathi Khel is a traditional martial art practiced and performed in India and Bangladesh and is a famous sport in rural parts. In Sanskrit the word ‘Lathi’ means Bamboo stick and ‘Khel’ means game and hence the name, Lathi Khel.
