BENGALURU: Although India has progressed enormously since independence, there are numerous areas that need to have stringent laws to protect the democratic rights of citizens. Societal issues regarding sexual assault, child labour, and employment regulations are some of the concerns that require quick attention from the law makers of our country. It is high time that we take a look into various pragmatic laws enforced in various countries and apply those to improvise the image of “Ideal India”. Netherland legalized same sex marriage in 2001 and since then many countries like Canada, England, and the U.S.A. have followed the pattern. Homosexuality has been supported by the ancient Indian history also. Presently India needs to reconsider Section 377 of the Indian penal Code and give acceptance to the LGBT rights.
