Boeing 727-223: Boeing 727-223 was stolen in open daylight from Quatro de Fevereiro Airport, Angola. The aircraft was owned by Miami based company Aerospace Sales and Leasing and at that time was leased to Angola Airlines.
Just before the Sunset on 25th May, 2003, 2 persons were seen boarding the plane without any prior notice. Among the two persons one was Ben Charles Padilla, an American Pilot and flight engineer and another’s identity is unknown. The plane headed towards southwest over the Atlantic Ocean without any runway clearance and switching off the transponder as well as the lights. Till then, neither the plane nor the two suspects are ever seen yet.

The plane carried almost 93 U.S. soldiers and 3 Vietnamese soldiers. It was flying from Travis Air Force Base, California to Saigon, Vietnam. The plane disappeared when it was on its route to Clark Air Base, Philippines.
A huge search was initiated for long eight days over 200,000 square miles of the Pacific Ocean by the U.S. military forces, but no flight debris was recognized. A civil tanker though observed something that appeared to be some in flight explosion and hence it is believed to some extent that the flight might have exploded in the mid air during its flight.
