Tulu

Probably one of the most endangered languages of India, Tulu has native speakers of 1.85 million. This Dravidian language is mainly spoken in the south west part of the state Karnataka and the Kasargod district of Kerala. Apart from the significant people speaking Tulu, there are people from Maharashtra, Bengaluru, Chennai and other Gulf countries who speak Tulu. It is believed that the oldest Tulu inscriptions are from 14th to 15th Century AD and was found around Barkur, the capital of Tulu Nadu during Vijayanagar era.
