3,400 engineering seats remained vacant

Bangalore: In the first round of admissions to engineering colleges, conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) around 3,400 seats remained vacant in Karnataka, was therefore forced to close.
The vacancies are mostly in newer engineering colleges and government colleges located in the remote areas, the specific details on these were not available.
The Counselling will be held for students, who have applied for the course in Bachelors of Architecture. Only the rank-holders who qualified the exams in architecture are eligible for counselling.
The casual vacancy round for engineering courses will be held on August 12 and will continue till August 22.
However, the casual vacancy round for all general merit candidates and reserved candidates will continue from August 30 to September 16.
