19 Year Old Daily Wage Worker Qualifies For National Kickboxing Championship

BANGALORE: Dreams have no limits; it is good to have a dream to full fill rather than spending life without determination to achieve a dream. The nineteen year old, Iftekhar Khan from UP is setting an example for all the youngsters in the country to work hard and follow their passion. The teenager has booked his berth for the National Kickboxing championship in Kolkata, reports India Times.

Iftekhar relocated himself to Mumbai a year back in order to earn his living and is currently working at a local grocery shop. While he was in UP he used to practice under coach, Wasim Mohammad in Gajipur. He has already won gold and three silvers for his home state in the National Kickboxing championships at a junior level earlier, but this time he will be representing Maharashtra.

He has been through a lot of struggle since he took up the sport at a very young age which includes running kilometers and practicing kicks alone. After being recognized in national level too, he is still not being able to find a suitable coach which is bothering the talented youngman.

He states that, “I faced a tough time the entire year, but I looked at it as a transition period. With self-training and determination, I have overcome all obstacles to fight back and win medals. When I encounter any problem in technique and improvement, I call up my mentor in Uttar Pradesh for guidance." The youngster also added that, “I wish to serve my country as a soldier in the army".
