Upholding liberty and equality of its citizens few other western countries like Sweden, Norway, Portugal, Iceland and Argentina legally gave their citizens the right to tie the knot to their loved ones, regardless of any barriers including sex.

Sweden was the seventh country to allow gay marriages on 1st May, 2009. Norwegian Government announced the big news as a New Year’s gift to its citizens on 1st January, 2009. Norway was the first Scandinavian country to constitutionally allow same sex marriages. Portugal, Iceland and Argentina followed suit.
