10 Eminent Global Thinkers of 2012



Narayana Kocherlakota is an Indian American economist, who is presently the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. He publicly announced that the interest rate should be lowered to zero until the unemployment falls below the rate of 5.5 percent. He once was the inflation hawk.
Richard A. Muller is an American physics professor at the University of California, Berkeley. His work was widely expected to defy global warming. But later he agreed with the rate of global warming and said “humans are almost entirely the cause.”

These three men are known to have changed their mind diametrically after proposing a certain belief in their specific fields.

The Foreign Policy has come out with the 100 global thinkers list in 2012; it has listed many eminent men and women associated with India and from Indian origin. Salman Rushdie, writer ranked 33rd, Ruchir Sharma managing director, Morgan Stanley, New York ranked 67th, while Raj Chetty, economist, Cambridge ranked 74th on the list. Raghuram Rajan, economist, India was seen on the 80th position and Pankaj Mishra, writer got the 86th place.
