9 Chen Guangcheng
Chen Guangcheng is a human rights icon, who lives with his family in New York and he is free to study what he likes and go where is pleases. Ironically a year ago he was under house arrest in Dongshigu, China, and was not allowed to travel or visit anyone and constantly harassed by the Chinese authority. And now living in New York he isn’t sure whether he can ever return to his homeland.
As a civil rights activist he worked for the human rights concerns in the rural regions of China. He is visually challenged from an early age and is self taught in the law. He is known as the ‘barefoot lawyer’ and a supporter of women’s right, the welfare of the poor and land rights.

David Blankenhorn is the founder and president of the Institute for American Values. He is also the author of ‘The Future of Marriage and Fatherless America.’ The book provides an intellectual front to those debating the marriage of same-sex which threatens to challenge the institution of the family. He now supports gay and lesbian marriages.
