Movies Based on Freedom Fighters: Let's Recall our Real Heroes

5. Legend of Bhagat Singh (2002)

the legend of bhagat singh

This movie is one of the very few biopics that almost depict the real facts as they were. The movie reels the events like bombing at the Central Legislative Assembly with the chants of Inquilaab Zindabad to the hanging of Indian freedom fighter Bhagat Singh and his aides Rajguru and Sukhdev on 23rd March 1931. It also tells the nerve-wracking tale of our heroes’ 63-day fast unto death and their immense sacrifice for the nation. The film won two National Awards including the ’Best Feature’ film in Hindi.

Cast: Ajay Devgn as Bhagat Singh, Nakshdeep Singh as young Bhagat Singh, Sushant Singh as Sukhdev Thapar, D. Santosh as Shivaram Rajguru, & Akhilendra Mishra as Chandrashekhar Azad

Note: Don't forget to watch 23rd March 1931: Shaheed which is based on the same storyline.

These movies are powerful enough to re-ignited the fire of independence in you and eventually build India just like they wanted.

Wish you all a prosperous Independence Day!
