India Brings Biggest Entertainment Showcase to BIFF 2025 in Korea

India is gearing up to make a bold impact at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) 2025 and the Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM) in South Korea. For the first time, India will be represented by a ministerial delegation led by Dr. L. Murugan, Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, marking a new chapter in the country’s cultural diplomacy.
Representatives from major institutions, including NFDC, FICCI, FTII, SRFTII, and IIMC along with creators from the WAVES Bazaar initiative, will join the delegation. India aims to reinforce its position as a hub for creative economy and expand international collaborations in film, AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics), and content production.
India’s showcase will feature the Bharat Pavilion themed ‘India Creative Economy for the World,’ where WAVES Bazaar will play a central role. B2B meetings will link Indian creators with global markets. A panel titled ‘IndiaâKorea Synergies: New Horizons in CoâProductions’ will bring together industry leaders and policymakers. The Bharat Parv cultural evening will feature music, art, and cuisine to forge personâtoâperson cultural ties.
On the film side, India will present over ten films at BIFF in various categories like the Inaugural Competition and Vision Asia. Major titles include Spying Stars, If on a Winter Night, Kok Kok Kokoook, Shape of Momo, Bayaan, Don’t Tell Mother, Full Plate, Karinji, and I, Poppy. Meanwhile, five Indian coâproduction projects have been selected for the ACFM’s Asian Project Market, Difficult Daughters, The Last of Them Plagues, Lanka (The Fire), Moon, and The Magical Men.

Dr. Murugan said the presence reflects India’s commitment to building strong ties through culture, expanding AVGC opportunities, and driving coâproduction frameworks. Letters of Intent are expected to be signed between Indian bodies (NFDC, FTII, IICT) and South Korean partners (KAFA, KOFIC, KOCCA), along with OTT platforms.
India’s attendance at BIFF 2025 is more than a showcase it is a statement that its creative voices, films, and culture are ready to engage with the world on equal footing.
