Ground Zero Trailer has Released Emraan Hashmi in The Lead Role
The highly anticipated trailer for the upcoming film Ground Zero has been released, featuring Emraan Hashmi in the lead role. Set against the tumultuous backdrop of conflict-ridden Kashmir, the film is scheduled to hit theaters on April 25.
Unveiled on Monday, the trailer showcases Emraan Hashmi as BSF officer Narendra Nath Dubey, who embarks on a high-stakes mission in the volatile region of Kashmir. Directed by Tejas Deoskar, this war drama draws inspiration from true events, telling the story of a real-life operation recognized as the best conducted by the BSF in the last 50 years.
Hashmi's portrayal is striking, embodying a raw, restrained, and commanding presence. One of the trailer's memorable lines, "Ab prahaar hoga," sets a powerful tone, hinting at a soldier pushed to his limits and ready to retaliate.
The action-packed trailer masterfully combines intensity with emotional depth, providing a glimpse into the complex realities of Kashmir. Accompanied by a haunting score, it opens in Kashmir circa 2001, where an officer intercepts a chilling message: “The days of throwing stones are over. To make a difference, we must fire bullets.”
As the narrative unfolds, it depicts a gripping sequence involving ‘mujahids’ plotting for the so-called freedom of Kashmir. Amid this turmoil, Hashmi’s character takes the lead—not only to combat terrorism but also to steer the youth of Kashmir away from radical ideologies and violence.
The trailer concludes with a haunting voiceover from a faceless enemy, adding an element of intrigue and raising the stakes of the story.
In Ground Zero, Emraan Hashmi portrays Narendra Nath Dubey, who led the operation that took down terrorist mastermind Ghazi Baba in 2003, an achievement that earned him the Kirti Chakra in 2005 from President APJ Abdul Kalam.
Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banner of Excel Entertainment, Ground Zero promises a blend of intense action and an emotionally compelling narrative. Alongside Hashmi, the film also features Sai Tamhankar in a supporting role. Emraan Hashmi was last seen as the antagonist Aatish Rehman in Salman Khan’s Tiger 3, and he has upcoming projects including Goodachari 2 and Awarapan 2.
