AR Murugadoss is an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter. In 2008, he directed the movie Ghajini, starring Amir Khan, the first Indian film to gross over 100 crores.

Ghajini holds the noteworthy feature of being the first movie to break 1 billion and Murugadoss was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Director for the film. Murugadoss won the Stardust Award for Hottest New Filmmaker and Apsara Award for Best Director for Ghajini. Ghajini's paid preview collections were 27 million.

Abhishek Varman has remained third assistant director for the film My Name Is Khan and as an assistant in widely recognized film Jodhaa Akbar in 2008.

2 States is a 2014 romantic comedy film directed by Abhishek Verman based on the 2009 novel of the same name written by Chetan Bhagat.

According to Box Office India, the film had excellent first day figures of 120 million. The collections for second day were around 117.5 million taking its two-day total to 237.5 million.
