Is India Loosing Its Foothold In BPO Industry?

Bangalore: Ten years before no one would have thought that an employee sitting in Bangalore would be able to assist a platinum card customer from the U.S. who lost his card while skiing in Vermont. Such was the boom displayed by the Business Process Outsourcing industry, with the sector displaying an upward surge even during times of high pressure. Customers seeking to cut additional cost on back office process for verticals ranging from healthcare, insurance, financial services, travel & hospitality to shared services keep a keen eye on outsourcing market. Technologies such as cloud computing, business analytics software, social media platforms and process automation software are being used within BPO to ensure lower cost and higher efficiency.

"Effective technologies and architectures contribute to cost reductions and more efficient operations by streamlining the systems environment and reducing the number of systems involved, often standardizing the technology environment on a unified, centralized platform," says Anoop Sagoo, products industry BPO lead at Accenture.
