Bangalore: The CIOs of IT departments are facing the wrath from other departments for not being open about the developments happening in their department.

IT department is often accused of being in the dark keeping most of its operations hidden from the other departments of the company.

But this trend might force the IT to pay huge prices on a longer run. As reported by computerworld.com, the practice of not coming out in the open can force IT face some serious issues like not finding proper respect in the company, losing trust among others who might misinterpret IT’s intention, and difficulty in finding a place in the mainstream employees among others.

-One of the many measures that IT can adopt is being ready to accept its fault and rectify the same like all the other departments in the company.

-Another way is to start working with a reporting methodology that can help IT communicate the progress of projects to other departments. The report can include details such as approved projects, projects in the pipeline, expected expenditure, reasons of escalation etc. Publishing such reports will help other employees to get a better insight about the happenings in IT and its progress.
