Bangalore: With Microsoft Windows 8 scheduled to release soon, the software giant is eyeing at reducing the number of editions to simplify the buying and upgrading process. But as easier it may sound, it still has glitches.

1. For Those Planning To Buy New Windows 8 PC:
In case if you wish to downgrade the new PC to Windows 7, you need to have Windows 8 Pro installed in your system and this being best time to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro, choose your operating system wisely. Check carefully as most of the PCs offer the base Windows 8 edition.

2. For Those Who Purchased Their Pcs Before 2nd June, 2012:
In such scenarios there are two options, either order for Windows 8 Pro upgrade online after October 26th or buy the boxed upgrade from Amazon, Newegg, Staples etc. The online upgrade will cost $40 and the boxed upgrade will cost $70.
