‘New Dell’ takes birth:

      Dell            acquired Perot Systems and launched Dell Services that gives customers’ end-to-end IT services to help its customers lower their IT costs. Dell also entered the Smartphone market with Mini 3i. Dell purchased key IP in storage, systems management, cloud computing and software: Boomi, Exanet, InSite One, KACE, Ocarina Networks, Scalent and Compellent to transform its image as a PC manufacturer and to reinvent its elf. Dell acce lerated its enterprise customers’ move to the cloud with Dell Virtual Integrated Systems solutions. Dell enters the tablet arena with the Streak.  Dell also acquired SecureWorks, RNA Networks and Force10 Networks, leaders in enterprise solutions and services. Further proving its commitment to provide end-to-end IT solutions for its customers, Dell committed $1 billion to develop Dell data and solution centers around the world and open R&D centers in Israel and the U.S. Thus, Dell has revealed its plan to transform into a full-fledged IT service providing company in an attempt t o reinvent its reputation.
