Online sale at dell.com reached to $40 million a day surpassing all records in 2000. During this period Dell recognized the need to diversify its product range to further rule the market and following the initiative it launched numerous offerings such as built-in Wi-Fi for the customers to use the internet on the go, PowerConnected line of network switches, PowerEdge 1655MC- the first blade server, 1300MP projectors, printers and other consumer electronic goods to serve as a single source to its customers. Dell also linked up with EMC to enable more affordable enterprise storage models.

2005-2008:
Social and Sustainable Business:

Dell tops the list of “America’s Most Admirable companies” in 2005. It revolutionized the way businesses connect by launching Direct2Dell-a blog to enable fast, direct, two-way conversations with our customers. The year 2006 also marked the acquisition of gaming leader Alienware for gaming enthusiasts. This period marked the launch of Dell’s various lines of Laptops for small and medium businesses, the major releases were the Vostro family tailored for small businesses, Dell Latitude E-family laptops and Dell Studio. Dell also acquired storage leader EqualLogic to expand its presence in the storage market.
