Bangalore: Virtualization has been among the hottest trending topics in recent times rubbing shoulders with cloud and big data. The hype created around virtualization can be attributed to the convenience it brings along with us by reducing the storage space required by any enterprise to store its most critical and valued data.
But no matter how luring any technology may sound, it has some downsides that drag it down.
As compiled by Michael Pietroforte of 4syspops.com, here is a list of seven such downsides of virtualization. Have a look:

1. Requirement of New Skills:
Virtualization is way too different from having physical servers and it also brings along with itself some problems that did not exist in the past. There are certain issues, for example, assigning the amount of memory to a virtualized server etc that cannot be same as working with physical servers. Thus, this requires that the team needs to acquire new skills before being able to handle the virtual interface.
