4 Common Mistakes While Implementing Virtualization
3. Inadequate Network Bandwidth:
Allocating less network bandwidth than the required NIC can also result in the degraded performance of a virtualized server. While migrating from a physical server to a virtual machine, the general mistake is to use less number of NICs to channel the adequate bandwidth. Though the number of NIC required in a VM is less when compared to physical servers, using very few NIC will only result in sluggish performance.
4. Unsuited Virtual Workload:
Another problem that usually surfaces up while implementing virtualization is the uneven distribution of workload. The problem that is faced is one VM intercepting the operations of another VM. This problem can be checked by deploying multiple VMs having less resource conflict. Carefully planning the allocation of available resources will help in minimizing the number of conflicts that the servers are subjected to. A proper planning before deploying virtual machines can help in addressing a number of issues that disrupt the migration from physical server to a virtualized server.
