Also known as AIM (AOL Instant Messenger), AOL Mail initially started as a paid version, but now it’s free to all its users. AOL has a lot of exciting features, but what the users say is that the mail and its appearance are same as the others. Recently AOL received its long waited update. One of the main disadvantages is that AOL fails in its appearance and presentation to keep up with other mail providing giants. AOL supports advertisements but another drawback is that it doesn’t have any paid version to remove this service. AOL services include unlimited storage, over 16MB of attachment allowed size limit, the ability to create folders and lists, filters, address book, search, auto reply, drag-n-drop functionality, spell checker, IMAP access, calendars, notes, mobile access, multiple language support, games, RSS reader, online support, chat via AIM, customized addresses, plugins and text messaging. But whatever might be the case, AOL still has to make a number of improvements to catch up with the top players in mail service.
