- Founder Sridhar Vembu says new features and improvements are coming soon.
Zoho’s homegrown messaging app, Arattai, has witnessed an extraordinary rise in users, reflecting the growing support for Indian made technology under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative. According to Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu, the app’s daily traffic surged by 100 times in just three days. New user sign ups jumped from 3,000 per day to 350,000, catching even the company by surprise.
In response, Zoho is urgently expanding its infrastructure and addressing technical challenges to keep the app stable and efficient. Vembu said the company is working around the clock to improve the system and fix issues as they arise. Although Zoho had planned a major update for Arattai by November, the unexpected surge has accelerated those timelines. He reassured users that more features and enhancements are on the way and asked for patience and support.
Vembu also spoke about Zoho’s approach to innovation, highlighting that the company avoids the short term pressures that come with being publicly listed. This allows Zoho to focus on long term projects and research in areas like AI, robotics, and chip design. He explained that without this freedom, projects like Arattai might never have taken off.
