Vodafone & Google Cloud Join Hands on Data Analytics
Telco major Vodafone Group and Alphabet Inc's Google Cloud associate in a strategic partnership to jointly develop data services, says Vodafone.
It is estimated that about 1,000 workers would be asked by both firms to create "Nucleus", a new cloud-based storage and analytics portal which woudl host Vodafone's data.
In a statement, Vodafone states that, Nucleus would be capable of processing close to 50 terabytes of data a day within the cloud.
The statement further adds, "Both companies together will drive the use of reliable and secure data analytics, insights, and learnings to support the introduction of new digital products and services for Vodafone customers simultaneously worldwide."
As part of the six-year agreement, both companies is planning to develop a system called ‘Dynamo’ that could extract and transport data across various countries where the British-based telecom company operates.
The report reveals that both the companies also perfer to sell consultancy services to other multinational businesses that is intending to move huge amounts of data to the cloud in the future.
