Tata Motors Revives Sierra SUV With Modern Tech and Updated Design
- Tata launches the 2025 Sierra in India, marking its comeback after 20+ years
- ICE variants debut first; electric version to follow
- Prices expected to start around Rs 10-11 lakh (ex-showroom)
Tata Motors has officially launched the 2025 Tata Sierra SUV in India, bringing back one of its most iconic nameplates after more than two decades. The company unveiled the internal combustion engine (ICE) variants first, while an all-electric Sierra will be introduced later. The SUV is expected to be priced in the Rs 10-11 lakh (ex-showroom) range, with official bookings set to open soon.
Ahead of the launch, several dealers had begun taking small token amounts, sometimes just Rs 11,000 to gauge early interest. These were not formal bookings, but they indicated strong anticipation around the Sierra’s return.
Designed to compete with midsize SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, the new Sierra blends nostalgic design cues with modern engineering. It retains the classic glasshouse-inspired styling, now updated with a bold B-pillar, sleek blacked-out elements, LED headlamps, DRLs, and a gloss-black strip that connects the lights with the Tata logo and Sierra branding. The upright stance, boxy silhouette, dual fog lamps, and integrated skid plate further enhance its contemporary look.
Inside, the SUV features three dashboard displays, one for the driver and two infotainment screens with shared content support. It borrows Tata Curvv’s four-spoke steering wheel, complete with touch-sensitive controls and an illuminated logo. A panoramic sunroof stretching to the C-pillar, dual-tone upholstery, three-point seatbelts for all passengers, and adjustable headrests contribute to a premium cabin experience.

Feature highlights include dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, rear sunshades, a 360-degree camera, Level-2 ADAS, an electronic parking brake, and more although the full list will be released soon.
The SUV will be available in six colors including Bengal Rouge, Coorg Clouds, Munnar Mist, Pristine White, Pure Grey, and Andaman Adventure. Prices are expected to range between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 25 lakh depending on the variant.
