Kwatra Strengthens India-US Collaboration in Technology, AI and Innovation

India’s Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, has intensified engagements in Washington to strengthen India-US cooperation across science, technology, artificial intelligence and innovation. He met Congressman Jay Obernolte, who chairs the House Science, Space, and Technology Research and Technology Subcommittee, and discussed expanding joint work in emerging technology fields.
In a post on X, Ambassador Kwatra said he enjoyed the conversation and emphasized several new areas where both nations can deepen collaboration. He also met Francis Pedraza, founder of Invisible Technologies, for a detailed talk on the rapid evolution of technology and its impact on society. Pedraza’s Eternity Civilization Foundation is working on an ambitious project to translate ancient texts from the historic Nalanda library using AI tools. Kwatra described the discussion as “fascinating and instructive”.
The Ambassador also held a roundtable at the Heritage Foundation, which he called a strong supporter of India-US ties. He shared updates on priority areas within the strategic partnership, including economic cooperation, fair and balanced trade, and growing oil and gas engagement.

Separately, Kwatra met Congressman Riley Moore to discuss opportunities to advance cooperation in security, energy and trade. He noted that these sectors continue to be central to the expanding partnership between both nations.
Earlier, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said India-US relations remain active and strategic. He added that progress continues on the Bilateral Trade Agreement and that 'good news' will come once both sides reach the right balance.
