2. Margaret Whitman

Margaret Whitman is the President, Chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard. Margaret stands tall at the 17th position in the list. She also worked with Walt Disney, Dream Works and Hasbro also.

She has served as President and CEO of eBay from 1998 to 2008. During her ten years with the company, she oversaw expansion from 30 employees and $4 million in annual revenue to more than 15,000 employees and $8 billion in annual revenue.

At HP, she currently takes a $1 salary per year for the last three years but on the other hand she takes away $1.5 million home. She has huge amount of shares in eBay till date, and continues to see an increase in her shares in HP.

3. Virginia Rometty

Virginia Rometty, the Chairwoman and CEO of IBM, is the first woman to head the company. Fortune ranked Rometty at 23rd position in the list. Prior to becoming president and CEO in January 2012, she held the positions of Senior Vice President and Group Executive for Sales, Marketing, and Strategy at IBM.

Rometty is credited for leading IBM's growth strategy by getting the company into the cloud computing and analytics businesses.

She has been named to Fortune magazine's "50 Most Powerful Women in Business" for eight consecutive years. She was also ranked 10th on Forbes magazine's "World's 100 Most Powerful Women" in 2014.
