Ola Unveils 'Shakti' Home Battery System Starting at Rs 29,999

Ola Electric has launched its first residential Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) called Ola Shakti, aiming to bring clean, reliable power to Indian homes. The system starts at an introductory price of Rs 29,999 and will be available in four configurations, 1.5 kWh, 3 kWh, 5.2 kWh, and 9.1 kWh, with prices going up to Rs 1,59,999.
Built entirely in India and powered by Ola’s in-house developed 4680 Bharat Cells, Ola Shakti marks the company’s bold move into the home energy sector. The system can power a range of appliances, including ACs, fridges, induction cookers, farm pumps, and communication devices. It provides up to 1.5 hours of backup at full load and charges fully in about two hours.
Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and MD of Ola Electric, said, With Ola Shakti, we’re extending our battery innovation from electric vehicles to Indian homes”. He added, “India doesn’t lack energy, it needs better storage. Ola Shakti is our step toward energy independence”.
The system features IP67 rated weatherproof batteries, designed to withstand dust, water, and monsoon conditions. It operates across a wide voltage range of 120V to 290V, offering protection against fluctuations common in Indian households.

Ola Shakti is available for pre-booking at Rs 999 on the Ola Electric website and Ola stores. Deliveries will begin on Makar Sankranti 2026. The company expects demand for BESS to surpass its EV battery usage, scaling up to 5 GWh annually in the coming years.
Following the launch, Ola Electric’s stock rose 4.89%, trading at Rs 55.15 on the BSE.
