Microsoft has announced major partnerships with Infosys, TCS, Wipro, and Cognizant to deploy Microsoft 365 Copilot at massive scale, marking a major step toward enterprise-wide AI adoption in India. The companies will collectively roll out more than 2,00,000 Copilot licenses, with each firm implementing over 50,000 licenses to support employees and clients worldwide.
Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella, revealed the development during the Microsoft AI Tour in Bengaluru, calling it a new benchmark for global enterprise AI transformation. He noted that the collaboration showcases how Indian IT leaders are moving rapidly from AI experimentation to large-scale deployment.
This announcement follows Microsoft’s plan to invest $17.5 billion in cloud and AI infrastructure, talent development, and operations in India between 2026 and 2029. The investment aims to strengthen India’s position as a global AI innovation hub.
Microsoft India & South Asia President Puneet Chandok said Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, and Wipro are “setting the global pace” in AI adoption. “These enterprises are going beyond pilots and are weaving Microsoft Copilot into everyday workflows. This bold shift is shaping a new era of enterprise transformation powered by trusted digital collaborators”,he said.

Nadella also highlighted India’s growing influence in the global developer ecosystem. He said India is on track to become the No. 1 country on GitHub, driven by strong developer engagement and innovative project pipelines. He added that a mindset shift will be key for developers as AI becomes deeply integrated into coding and enterprise systems.
