From Housing to Airlines: 7 Major Sectors to Receive Favors from Budget 2016

In the third quarter of 2015-16, 30 percent of operating cost of airlines included Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF). Now, the budget includes a hike of 6 percent in excise duty on aviation turbine fuel (ATF). But this hike might not affect the marginal profit of airlines as a part of it will be passed on to consumers. Additionally, exemption of excise, customs and countervailing duties on certain inputs procured by the maintenance, repair and overhaul industry, could lower maintenance expenses of airlines.
