The health of land for cultivation cannot be neglected as the budget primarily focuses on farmers. So, the Finance Minister announced fast-tracking of 89 irrigation projects under the Accelerated Irrigation Programme Benefit (AIPB). Further, he proposed spending Rs 86,500 crore on irrigation projects over the next five years, towards increasing agricultural output. The Budget has provided 28.5 lakh hectares of land to be brought under irrigation under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana.
