Corporate Marriages: A Business Affair
Bangalore: There was a period in the pre-liberalization eighties in India when most of the successful businessmen wanted their children to marry children of other successful businessmen. The trend has not changed much as we have been witnessing different marriages in the Indian business world during the past few years.
Though this alliance can be attributed to Cupid, the God of love, most of the other marriages in this row purely seem to be business alliances rather than weddings. The most well established business families in India tend to get their children knotted within the larger community of successful businessmen; either for setting up larger business empires, and/or for fulfilling the dreams of their children who marry out of affection. Some in the business field say that by marrying into their own ecosystems, they get stronger and can compete better.
Does love matter? Or is it just good business sense? Or are these weddings simple coincidences? Have a look.
