For the Infosys founder Narayana Murthy's son Rohan Murthy, it was a cocktail of business and love, where he wooed and won over Lakshmi Venu, daughter of TVS Motor chairman and managing director Venu Srinivasan The wedding reception of the scions of South Indian corporate royalty—Rohan Murthy and Lakshmi was a classy, elegant affair held in June 2011, which had a South Indian theme of grace and style with classical music and gleaming Kancheevarams.

The guest list for the reception comprised a mix of political, business and celebrity elite—including S M Krishna, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, Girish Karnad, Arundhati Nag, Azim Premji, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, and Narayana Murthy's former colleagues Nandan Nilekani, Mohandas Pai and Kris Gopalkrishnan.

The bride appeared luxurious with her blue apparel designed by Rohit Bal and a diamond necklace. "We designed five outfits for Lakshmi — a blue reception gown, her ivory lehenga with the trademark peacocks, a wine anarkali and a pale yellow outfit and a coral anarkali with a western touch," Rohit was full of praise for the bride.
