Amazon Unveils GST Storefront to Drive Festive Sales
- Amazon India introduces a special GST storefront to showcase products with tax related price cuts.
- Launch aligns with GST rate reductions and Amazon’s flagship festive sale, starting September 23.
- Sellers are supported with automated tools and resources to pass GST benefits to consumers.
As the festive season kicks off, Amazon India has rolled out a dedicated GST storefront to highlight price reductions resulting from recent tax cuts. The move is part of the e-commerce giant’s broader strategy to drive consumer spending ahead of its Great Indian Festival (AGIF) sale, starting September 23, with Prime Early Access from midnight on September 22.
The new ‘Great Savings Celebration-GSTBachatUtsav’ storefront displays products that benefit from reduced GST rates, particularly in high demand categories like electronics, home appliances, and daily essentials. Following the government’s recent tax reform, GST on several products has been cut from 28% to 18%, enabling sellers to pass on savings directly to customers.
To make shopping easier, Amazon is labeling eligible products with special badges like ‘Prime Deal + GST Savings’ and ‘Deal with GST Savings’. These deals stack with other festive offers, including no cost EMIs, exclusive bank discounts, and up to 5% cashback for Prime members using Amazon Pay.

Amazon is also helping sellers navigate the new tax structure by automatically updating GST rates and Product Tax Codes (PTCs) where possible and offering tools, tutorials, and masterclasses to support compliance. Sellers still retain pricing control but are encouraged to reflect tax savings in their listings.
With over 100,000 products and 30,000+ new launches from major brands like Apple, Samsung, and Titan, this year’s AGIF sale is expected to draw strong demand. Industry experts suggest the tax cuts could boost festive sales by 15-20%, especially in premium categories.
