In a boost to India's local manufacturing efforts, Adani Defence & Aerospace, the defence arm of the Adani Group, has entered into a partnership with Thales Group to manufacture 70mm rockets within the country.
Thales Group highlighted the strategic importance of this agreement, underscoring its commitment to India and its global partner network. "We congratulate the Adani Group on this partnership. Together, we aim to contribute to the continued growth and success of India's defence sector", Thales Group stated in a social media announcement.
Expressing enthusiasm about the collaboration, Thales Group emphasized their eagerness to work alongside Adani Group in India for the production of Thales' 70mm rockets. The partnership aligns closely with India's 'Make in India' and 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' initiatives, reinforcing the nation's self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
Adani Defence & Aerospace, known for its expertise in developing advanced defence products, continues to expand its capabilities. Earlier this month, the company also forged a significant agreement with EDGE Group, a prominent defence and technology conglomerate based in the UAE. This partnership aims to create a global platform leveraging the combined strengths of both entities to meet the needs of global and local defence markets.
The collaboration between Adani Defence & Aerospace and Thales Group marks a pivotal milestone in bolstering India's defence manufacturing capabilities, supporting local employment, and contributing to the nation's strategic self-reliance goals.
