Adani and Bombardier Explore Aviation Partnerships
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, recently met with Bombardier CEO Eric Martel to explore 'transformative partnerships' in the aviation sector. Adani shared the outcome of the high-level discussions on the social media platform X, emphasizing their shared vision of fostering a stronger and self-reliant India.
“Powering India's aviation growth! Had a great discussion with @Bombardier CEO Eric Martel on transformative partnerships in Aircraft Services, MRO, and Defence”, Adani stated, further adding that they are working together to harness synergies for India's advancement in the aviation industry.
Adani Group's foray into civil aviation is part of a broader strategy to leverage its experience in infrastructure development, aiming to revolutionize airport services through Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), a 100 per cent subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Ltd., established in 2019. AAHL currently manages seven key airports, including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Jaipur. The upcoming addition of Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) in December 2024 will expand their portfolio to eight airports, further cementing their leadership in India’s aviation sector.
AAHL already handles 25 per cent of passenger footfalls and 33 per cent of India’s air cargo traffic. NMIA, costing Rs 16,700 crore, will serve 20 million passengers annually, with advanced connectivity through Atal Setu and metro rail.
In a significant development, the Indian Air Force will conduct the first fighter jet trial landing on NMIA’s runway on October 5, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The trial marks a crucial milestone as NMIA prepares to open its two phases, further bolstering India's aviation infrastructure
