Paytm, Mobikwik and Citrus to Tie Up With e-Paisa

BANGALORE: As the e-commerce is growing rapidly over the years, the payment service providing apps like Paytm, Mobikwik and Citrus are taking it to the next level. These online portals are joining their hands with e-Paisa in order to make the payment easy for their customers. With the new establishment these app users will be eligible to use the help of mobile wallets to pay their bill at retail outlets like grocery stores, restaurants and other small brick and mortar merchants, reports Economic Times.

Customers entering in to an e-Paisa enabled store will get immediate information about the offers available in the store in their mobile wallet and once the customer is done with the purchase the shopkeeper will use the e-Paisa application in his mobile, which will possess a onetime password for the mobile wallet user. When the consumer approves the transaction will be completed.

The founder and CEO of e-Paisa Siddharth Arora stated that "Our belief is that if you want to digitize India, you have to digitize the point of sale. There are around 180 million plus wallets in India but they are mostly being used for money transfer or recharges. There's less friction with mobile wallet payments, where no money exchanges hands". Whereas the founder and managing director of Citrus Pay Jitendra Gupta said "From the merchant's perspective, real-time payment and settlement in today's digital age should be the norm, while keeping in mind the security of the consumer's money".
