ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu Extends Agreement with Oracle Academy to Advance Teacher Training Program

ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu announced a further agreement with Oracle Academy to train to over 900 faculty members across 550 ICT institutes of the state in the next three years. Oracle’s flagship philanthropic education program is aimed at advancing computer science education globally. The educators will learn how to teach computer science fundamentals and then train other teachers in their local communities.

Damian Haas, Senior Director – Oracle Academy, APAC and Japan, comments, “Education continues to be an important area we invest in, as we help India create a large pool of employable youth. We are thrilled to extend the Oracle Academy curriculum to teachers enrolled with ICT Academy in Tamil Nadu. Through educators, we aim to bridge the digital divide and grant students access to the latest knowledge in computing education”.

The collaboration will help students from urban and rural areas to develop computer science skills and the knowledge needed to progress in the IT industry. “Our single, most crucial aim is to empower our students with the latest technology innovations as they ready to enter the workforce. Our faculty play a key role in this process and hence we decided to expand our teacher training program across the state. We have received tremendous support from Oracle Academy and look forward to growing a strong pool of talent together in Tamil Nadu”, says M. Sivakumar, CEO, ICT Academy, Tamil Nadu.
