Bangalore: Tax policies are considered as one of the most crucial policies for any big companies. When it comes to any tax related issues, most of the companies prefer to stay away from it and tries their best in keeping their hands clean.

Recently, some of the influential leaders from Europe called for a discussion; tax policies were the chief matter of discussion in this meeting. Discussions were carried out on how the multinational companies tries to evade the tax related matters and also successfully submits much lesser tax than they are liable of. Rediff, as well as Reuters has cited some of the multinational companies and their ploys in evading taxes.

1. Apple

Apple’s iPads and iPhones had already tasted a huge success worldwide and the market is currently growing with the same pace. However, when it comes to the list of tax evaders, Apple holds the very first rank.

On a report issued by the U.S. Senate, it has been mentioned that Apple has taken advantage of Ireland’s tax codes. Following some of the weak points in Ireland’s tax system, Apple has successfully managed to pay only 2 percent of what they were obliged to pay.

However, Apple has played it safe and the Ireland tax department has declared their steps to be legal in the country.
