BENGALURU: Companies are back on track with mind blowing profits. FactSet has released a data on companies’ net income before discontinued operations and extraordinary items for their latest fiscal year. A surprising fact is that six of these companies belong to Chinese government banks. As per the report, here are the ten best companies that stand as the most profitable ones around the globe. The list is compiled by Yahoo Finance, and goes like this:

10. Microsoft: The largest and most profitable software company is Microsoft. This is not the first time that Microsoft made it to the list. Founded by Bill Gates operating from a garage back in the day, has grown to become a worldwide industry that has revenue of $86.8 billion and net income from continuing operations at $22.1 billion. Continuing operations of a business are segments of the company which are considered to be normal and are expected to continue in the foreseeable future. Most of the revenue happens to be from Microsoft Office, Windows and Server Products. It is one of the most valuable companies on planet earth as of 2014.
