5 Rules To Fix Your Failing Business

Don’t Procrastinate: A business cannot run on a mindset that slacks on works that needs to be done that very day. There is no room for procrastination at work; it will only pile up the amount of work and increase stress and pressure thereby making you inefficient. Finish each work before moving on to the next. This act is not just about you but more importantly about your colleagues who can work only if you complete the job. If you slack then they slack as well.

For example, you are asked to design the first phase of a building before passing it on to another that looks at after other aspects of the building, here if you don’t do it on time then they have to push their works because you decided to hold the work.

Learn the trade: In a firm there needs to be clarity with the kind of tools that each employee can access. They need to learn the complete trade, know what is going on around them and be given the rights to fix problems when it arises.

Let us take a retail scenario where an unsatisfied customer calls about a product. In a case like this the employee addressing the issue must be aware of how to deal with the problem instead of connecting the person up the management chain. When you cannot address a problem and have to retrace their call to someone else then a customer will be highly unsatisfied.

Esprit De Corps: The spirit of oneness, team work and common interest and responsibilities. People in the company need to know that there is only one mandate and that is the mandate of the company. Like one flag in a ship, so also one flag in a company. This is not of the CEO or an individual managements mandate but just the mission, vision and goals of the company.

This means that no matter old or new employee they must fit in to the system of the company. The company’s problem becomes your problem, its growth and advancement is also your growth and advancement. This must be the motto of any organization if it has to grow.
