Dominos exasperated Subway when it entered the sandwich biz
A fight was obvious to take place when Domino's started advertising for its latest oven-baked sandwiches in 2009. And it got dreadful, soon. Domino's promotion focused on a blind taste test, asserting that its sandwiches beat Subway 2-to-1. The individuals at Subway conflicted, and mailed Domino's a cease-and-desist letter. It got really interesting when Domino's CEO Dave Brandon individually reacted by oven-baking Subway's letter in a new ad. The dispute died down a few months later.
