Xora Inc., a provider of mobile solutions for enterprise applications has raised $4 million in Series B funding from SoundView Ventures, which already has stake in the company.

Xora has several production deployments in Global 3000 companies. The Mountain View, CA-based company has established partnerships with Motorola, Amdocs, AT&T Wireless, Siebel and IBM. Customers using the Xora mobile platform to deploy mobile field service, email and information management, and sales solutions include Aspect Communications, KLA-Tencor, ParTech, Intuitive Surgical, and MGE UPS Systems.

“Xora's ability to raise funding in a difficult venture capital market is an indication of the strength of the company's business value to enterprises that are under growing competitive pressure to deliver solutions for their mobile workforces,” said Sanjay Shirole, CEO of Xora.

“We continue to believe that Xora’s cutting-edge technology, world-class partners, marquee customers and experienced management team uniquely position the company to continue to take advantage of the large and growing opportunity we see in the mobile enterprise market,” Ned Carlson, senior vice president of SoundView Ventures said. “During a difficult year for enterprise software vendors, Xora has continued to experience sales and channel momentum. They are well-positioned to be profitable with this funding, and perhaps most importantly, to become the clear market leader in mobile enterprise computing.”

“Mobile Solutions for Field Service and Sales personnel can improve productivity, reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction,” said Stephen Drake, Mobile Infrastructure Software Program Manager, at IDC. “Mobile infrastructure software providers developing solutions with pre-built functionality for CRM, SFA, FFA and other applications, minimize integration and simplify deployment. As enterprise customers continue to realize the value of mobile solutions, priorities for wireless and mobile deployment projects will increase,” Drake added.
