Teranetics, an Ethernet solution provider co-founded by Sanjay Kasturia, Rahul Chopra, Sandeep Gupta, and Jose Tellado, has raised $25 million through a private equity fund. Apart from its strategic partner LSI Corporation, the current investors including Columbia Capital, Global Catalyst Partners, Granite Global Ventures (GGV), Portview Communications Partners, U.S. Venture Partners (USVP), and Venrock Associates (LSI) participated in the funding.

The money will be used to fund the company through the growth phase of its business plan. Headquartered at Santa Clara, the company develops silicon solutions that enable 10G rate over the traditional UTP copper cabling, a high magnitude improvement over the rates available in today’s enterprise networks.

Founded in 2003, Teranetics’ TN1010 Single-chip PHY supports single and dual port Ethernet NIC implementations. In addition, the chip power and size allow 10G switch implementations to achieve the density expected for the ever increasing bandwidth demands throughout the data center.

Sanjay Kasturia, Chief Technology Officer and Chairman at Teranetics said, “We are excited as the Ethernet market as a whole has a demand for over 200 million units a year. 2008 will be a key year for deployment of 10GBASE-T networks.”
