On the occasion of marking 10 years of its presence, the telecom product firm Tejas Networks has unveiled a packet of optical product portfolio as a part of its 3G and broadband wireless access (BWA) backhaul solution offering. As a key enabler of India’s exponential telecom growth, Tejas offers innovative optical networking solutions to operators for providing high quality services to over 500 million subscribers. The new carrier will enable the operators to migrate from 2G to 3G network, serve voice and data traffic volumes, and save costs on network enhancements.

“After contributing significantly to the country’s telecom revolution over a decade, we are providing scalable and future ready solutions to operators for meeting the challenge of massive growth in data, driven by mobile Internet, video and business services,” says Sanjay Nayak, CEO and Managing Director, Tejas Networks. The company plans to list on the stock exchange next year as it makes plan to expand into new segments and markets.

During the occasion Gururaj Deshpande, Chairman and Co-Founder, recalled the company’s involvement in India’s telecom sector as a thought leader, addressing complex needs of telecom operators. “India could produce several product firms like Tejas and establish a $100 billion high-tech industry this decade if the right impetus is given by the stakeholders in the ecosystem,” says Deshpande. “As Indian market is the most demanding, focusing on domestic market and leveraging it will give the Indian entrepreneurs a kick start initially to go global,” he adds.
