CA India has found a new leader in Amit Chatterjee, an IT veteran for 23 years, and appointed him as the new Vice President, Area Sales and Country Manager. He succeeds Ninad Karpe, who left CA earlier this year to head Aptech. A B.E. from NIT with an MDP from XLRI, Jamshedpur, Chatterjee started his career with HCL Infosystems. After 11 years with HCL, he joined Microland where he spent two valuable years of immense learning . Soon after he joined HP where he was till now. At HP he earlier headed HP Software’s division as the country manager for seven years and later took over as the Head of Alliances for HP Software across APAC and Japan. Ironically, during his years at HP, CA had been the key competition in the business and Chatterjee had strived very hard to bring HP to the top position. Now at CA he has to turn the tables round and compete with HP. At CA, Chatterjee will head the company’s regional leadership team and help formulate strategy to foster the growth of the company. He will lead a team of over hundred people across the company’s various business centers in the country. He also plans to find alternate efforts and strategies to over come the stiff competition from other players. Talking about his new role, Chatterjee says, “I think the key challenge as an individual software developer will be to find an alternative strategy and to counter the big players like HP, IBM and Wipro. Also, we will have to find strategic partners to achieve good results.” A leader who believes in having an open door policy, Chatterjee is stickler for hard work and quality. He believes that success is synonym to the passion one has towards achieving one’s goal. A person thriving on challenges on and off work, Chatterjee follows his passion for rock climbing and tennis whenever time permits. Otherwise he loves to spend most of his time with family.
